More than 150,000 pieces of glass tesserae are said to make up this spectacular mosaic of creation on the ceiling of the baptistry. It was the work of the sisters Gertrude and Margaret Martin, who created all the mosaics in St Anne’s over a period of seven years. The mosaic symbolises creation: the classical elements of water, earth, air and fire are depicted. God’s hand blesses His creation.
